Agilysys is Preparing for the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Jan 25, 2018

The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) goes into effect on May 25, 2018, when it supersedes the Data Protection Act in each EU country.

Significant and wide-reaching in scope, the new law brings a 21st-century approach to data protection, expanding the rights of individuals to control how their personal information is collected and processed, while placing a range of new obligations on organizations to be more accountable for data protection.

In this informative webinar, Agilysys’ UK team presents a complete overview of what to expect in the coming weeks leading up to this new legislation, as well as specific functionality changes anticipated for the Visual One® property management solution that will help operators meet the GDPR requirements. For every guest or group profile, and even for hotel staff, operators will be able to apply a data retention policy, designed to meet the obligations defined under the GDPR. Visual One will accommodate the policy requirements while protecting the organization and guest data. And for electronic guest profile management, Agilysys’ Datamagine™ provides seamless guest registration cards, including the critical application of retention policies.

Compliance is not a choice. Agilysys is dedicated to making sure the appropriate functionalities are in place to deal with the transparency, accountability and individuals’ rights, as well as building a culture of data privacy and security.
